*Jazz Standards for Catie’s Ballet Class* es una colección de arreglos para piano de Bruno Lawrence Raco, concebida para la práctica del ballet y basada en estándares de jazz y el *Great American Songbook* (el gran cancionero estadounidense).
 

 
El álbum está dedicado a la Sra. Catie Wells, quien seleccionó el repertorio y definió la estructura de la clase. Bruno Raco realizó los arreglos para piano y los interpretó específicamente para el estudio de danza.
 

 
La grabación sigue el desarrollo de una clase de ballet completa, desde el calentamiento en la barra hasta el *grand allegro*, la *coda* y el *port de bras*. Compositores como Cole Porter, Gershwin, Ellington, Jobim, Irving Berlin y el dúo Rodgers & Hart se presentan aquí al servicio de la danza: *pliés*, *tendus*, *ronds de jambe*, *fondus*, combinaciones de vals, giros y saltos.
 

 
Una propuesta dirigida a profesores, alumnos y a cualquier persona que busque música elegante y funcional para el estudio de danza.
