*Jazz Standards for Catie’s Ballet Class* è una raccolta di arrangiamenti pianistici di Bruno Lawrence Raco, pensati per le lezioni di danza classica e basati su standard jazz e brani tratti dal *Great American Songbook*.
 

 
L’album è dedicato a Catie Wells, che ha curato la selezione del repertorio e definito la struttura della lezione. Bruno Raco ha realizzato gli arrangiamenti e ne ha eseguito le versioni pianistiche appositamente per il lavoro in sala.
 

 
La registrazione segue lo svolgimento di una lezione di danza classica completa: dal riscaldamento alla sbarra fino al *grand allegro*, alla *coda* e al *port de bras*. Compositori come Cole Porter, Gershwin, Ellington, Jobim, Irving Berlin e il duo Rodgers & Hart offrono qui la base musicale per esercizi quali *pliés*, *tendus*, *ronds de jambe*, *fondu*, combinazioni di valzer, giri e salti.
